Currently seeking entry level job site trainers/ direct support professionals (DSP) for a part-time position.
The direct support professional (DSP) will be working as an on-site employment trainer and support individuals with disabilities in their place of work in community-based job sites in the Radford area.
Position is approximately 10-20 hours per week.
We're seeking energetic self-starters with a strong desire to learn our field, or to take your current skill set to the next level.
If you are independent, outgoing, organized, and passionate about helping people to achieve their employment goals, please join us in supporting our customers in the workforce.
Duties & Responsibilities for the Job Site Trainer/ Direct Support Professional (DSP):
Provide and document job site instruction and support to individuals with disabilities.
Provide systematic instruction/training on work tasks and document daily activity.
Facilitate natural support relationships between the employer, co-workers, and supported employee.
Communicate with our customers' Employment Teams and your supervisor about individual's progress, achievements, and challenges associated with the job.
Work collaboratively with appropriate adult service agencies and/or community organizations to maximize community participation for the individuals on your caseload.
Qualifications & Requirements for the Job Site Trainer/ Direct Support Professional (DSP):
Must value individuals with disabilities as productive, contributing members of our community.
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through for completion on tasks and projects; Good written and verbal communications skills, including but not limited to, strong grammar and spelling and usage of standard English; Must work well independently and with others, and remain productive with minimal supervision Excellent customer service skills and enthusiasm for interacting with people a must.
Clean driving record and background check required.
